Who can attend the Studio School?

There will be 300 places available at the Studio School with an annual intake of 50 for year 10 and 100 for year 12.

Students from across the Walsall and surrounding authorities can apply at the age of 14yrs or 16yrs. If you are interested in attending the proposed Studio School please click here for more information and express an interest.

Admissions arrangements

The Walsall Studio School will be fully compliant with the Schools Admission Code 2012 and the Appeals Code 2012. The admission arrangements for the Studio School, for the year 2013/2014 are 30 learners at 14yrs old and 50 learners at 16yrs old. The Studio school will admit that number of learners in the relevant age group each year if sufficient applications are received.

In the first year of opening Walsall Studio School will follow the national coordinated admissions arrangements. Parents/guardians will be required to register their interest with either Walsall Council or the Studio School.

Where the number of applications for admissions is greater than the published admissions number, applications will be considered against the oversubscription criteria set up in our Admission policy available at www.walsallstudioschool.co.uk. If there are no places immediately available, learners will be placed on a waiting list in an order that follows the oversubscription criteria. The Walsall Studio School Trust will be responsible for arranging the admission appeal and will appoint an appeals panel in accordance with Section 1; Constitution of Appeals Panels, of the School Admission Appeals Code, February 2012.
