A note regarding delivery of core GCSE Subjects (Mon 22/04/13)

Walsall Studio School needs to ensure the appropriate teaching of core GCSE subjects (including English, Maths and Science) is achieved by suitably qualified and experienced practitioners.

Applicants for this Assistant Principal role should be either (1) confident in delivering individual specialist lessons in one of the core GCSE subjects or  (2) be confident in teaching/supporting project-based lessons that cover some of the learning outcomes of the core curriculum as part of a wider themed project.

Each week students will attend both project-based learning lessons and individual subject lessons in the core GCSE subjects – which will be used to reinforce the learning and ensure all learning outcomes are addressed.

You will notice that we are currently advertising for a Maths specialist and an English specialist.  A member of staff from our key educational partner (QMGS) will provide the specialist science input at KS4.

Applicants are reminded that shortlist criteria are identified within the Job Description and Person Specification. We would also like to highlight the opportunity within the self-reflection exercise for applicants to demonstrate their confidence levels in a range of subject areas which may benefit the School.
